This is the most important part of CrossFit Ridgeway. Why? CrossFit is more than just doing a 1 hour workout each day. It is about building strong local connections and strengthening relationships. Through our community we hold each other accountable for fitness, nutrition and life goals so that we can all accomplish incredible feats together. Members of CrossFit Ridgeway are part of an amazing community that only grows stronger with each new member.
The programming is executed with the mindset that constantly varied, functional movements performed at high intensity will deliver results. Programming will also feature a strength, skill, mobility or cardio portion during each class.
The coaches at CrossFit Ridgeway will help every athlete with their fitness goals. They will also ensure the correct form and technique is used for every movement. If you miss class for a week or longer, you can expect a phone call from a coach asking why. Our coaches care about your progress but we also care about your personal life. If you are injured or sick, we are right by your side the same as if you were in the middle of a workout.
Although you will probably start feeling better and stronger immediately, new students can expect about a 15-20% improvement in strength and endurance following the first fifteen sessions. In addition, our findings show that flexibility, agility and body composition are improved. Subjective things like increased mental toughness, energy levels, improved sleep and reduced joint stiffness are also reported. Most of our students are shocked at their improvements even though they would consider themselves exercisers before starting CrossFit.
It is a common sentiment to feel that, due to the obligations of career and family, you don’t have the time to become as fit as you might like. Here’s the good news: world class, age-group strength and conditioning is obtainable through an hour a day four to five days per week of training. It turns out that the intensity of training that optimizes physical conditioning is not sustainable past forty-five minutes to an hour. Athletes that train for hours a day are developing skill or training for sports that include adaptations inconsistent with elite strength and conditioning. Past one hour, more is not better!
We do everything from mobility to gymnastics exercises. Specific examples include: the clean and jerk, snatch, squat, deadlift, push-press, bench-press, as well as bodyweight movements such as push-ups, sit ups, squats, and pull-ups. No exercise machines here!
Yes! CrossFit Ridgeway delivers results and continuously seeks to give every member the best one hour of their day. Our prices are set higher than our competitors because we are confident that our coaching, community, equipment and facility is the best in all of Rochester, NY.
At CrossFit Ridgeway, we believe that 3 days of working out followed by one day of rest is the optimal schedule to deliver the results you are looking for. Only going to CrossFit 2-3 times a week is not consistent with the preferred CrossFit schedule and will not deliver the results most athletes were looking for.
